Calligo Deploys Cloudian S3-based Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) Solution, Expanding Cloud Offering

Calligo, a global cloud service provider with data centres in Jersey, Guernsey, Bermuda, Singapore, Zurich and Geneva, needed an Amazon S3–compatible storage-as-a-service offering to meet growing customer demand. Key requirements were full S3 interoperability, transparent capacity and performance scalability, and multi-tenancy for secure, SLA-driven delivery — requirements that led Calligo to select Cloudian and its HyperStore S3 solution.

Calligo deployed Cloudian HyperStore appliances in a fault-tolerant, multi-site configuration (three nodes across two data centres), gaining Cloudian’s 100% native S3 API, multi-tenancy, QoS, billing/chargeback and seamless scaling to hundreds of PBs. The Cloudian solution delivered fast, successful rollout of STaaS, smooth integration with existing services (including SolidFire snapshot backups), simplified management, and a roadmap to expand to a global network of over 20 nodes.
