Backup with Veritas NetBackup and Backup Exec

Veritas Technologies needed a scalable, cost-effective way to handle growing backup capacity and offsite disaster recovery requirements while keeping data under control for compliance. Cloudian, using its HyperStore object storage with Veritas NetBackup and Backup Exec, provided an on-premises backup target and archive option that fit into existing Veritas environments.

Cloudian’s solution enabled seamless backup integration, policy-based cloud tiering, remote DR storage, and optional target deduplication. The result was faster, predictable backup performance at up to 18 TB per hour with 16 nodes, plus substantial storage savings through compression and reduced hardware and replication costs, with deduplication ratios of 30:1 or more.
