Southern Light Rail (SLR), a Georgia Tech non-profit corporation supporting research connectivity across universities and organizations in the Southern United States, needed a way to optimize traffic flow from its network to the AWS backbone as more workloads moved into AWS. CloudHesive helped address this challenge using AWS services including VPC, Direct Connect, and Firewall.

CloudHesive built a networking solution on the SLR backbone with Direct Connect links to AWS, improving routing for university network connections and AWS-hosted workloads. The solution also optimized access to third-party SaaS applications such as Zoom, Blackboard, and Salesforce, enabling more efficient traffic paths and better support for internal and external research-related services.
