Case Study: Phoenix East Aviation achieves scalable, highly available ecommerce performance with CloudHesive

A CloudHesive Case Study

Preview of the Phoenix East Aviation Case Study

Phoenix East Aviation increases the scalability and availability of their ecommerce and marketing site while staying within budget

Phoenix East Aviation (PEA), a flight school that relies heavily on its ecommerce and marketing website for student applications, needed to move off a traditional dedicated hosting environment managed through cPanel. Their site was struggling with stability and performance, and because many prospective students are international, PEA needed a more reliable, globally performant platform. They turned to CloudHesive for help migrating to the cloud using AWS.

CloudHesive assessed PEA’s environment, designed and built a new AWS architecture with security controls, fault tolerance, high availability, and auto scaling, then migrated the full environment in about 30 days. The solution used AWS services including VPC, EC2, ALB, EBS, and RDS, along with third-party tools like Trend Micro, Datadog, and Sumologic. As a result, PEA moved from weekly stability issues to a highly available, fault-tolerant site that handled increased traffic, improved user experience, and delivered caching at edge locations.
