Case Study: The Mongolian Tax Administration achieves faster, more accurate compliance analytics with Cloudera

A Cloudera Case Study

Preview of the The Mongolian Tax Administration Case Study

The Mongolian Tax Administration building a data-driven platform for economic stability

The Mongolian Tax Administration faced major challenges with fragmented data spread across multiple legacy systems, manual data collection, limited access for non-IT staff, and scalability issues that slowed tax administration and compliance work. It needed a centralized, secure platform for data, analytics, and AI, and chose Cloudera to help modernize its data management and support more reliable decision-making.

Cloudera implemented an on-premises hybrid data platform for the Mongolian Tax Administration, centralizing data ingestion, processing, analytics, and machine learning in one environment. Using Cloudera’s data lakehouse architecture with Apache Iceberg and Impala, plus KNIME for compliance analytics, the agency improved audit accuracy and compliance modeling; investigations into tax evasion are now completed about eight times faster, with the platform also enabling better scalability and stronger data governance.
