TechnipFMC, a global oil and gas projects and services leader with ~38,000 employees in 48 countries, needed a centralized data strategy to gain a single view of global operations. The company lacked a unified place to store and analyze data for machine learning and enterprise analytics, wanted to track equipment and project processes more effectively, and sought to remove IT bottlenecks so analysts and data scientists could work autonomously.

TechnipFMC deployed Hortonworks Connected Platforms on AWS, supported by Hortonworks Operational Services, to ingest IoT sensor data into a secure data lake and run analytics and Spark-based machine learning. The platform now supports 13 projects, provides accessible, governed data across the organization, enables self-serve analytics at the edge, and has driven greater efficiencies, faster insights, improved client outcomes, and better products.
