Shopzilla Connects Customers with the Products They Want

Shopzilla is a shopping marketplace that helps consumers find retailers and the best products and deals across more than 100 million items and about 40 million shoppers a month. The company needed to process, clean, transform and analyze massive, fast-moving data so retailers could measure campaign impact and target the right customers—at scale and in near real time.

To solve this, Shopzilla deployed a Cloudera enterprise data hub alongside its Oracle EDW and built on open-source tools like Sqoop, HBase, Pig, Hive, Spark and Impala. The new platform enabled real-time reporting across hundreds of variables, optimized resource allocation for matching buyers and sellers, and improved retail insights so shoppers and retailers more quickly find the right products at the best prices.
