Rabobank, a purpose‑led Dutch bank serving over 8.3 million customers worldwide, needed faster, higher‑quality customer data to help individuals and agricultural businesses become financially independent. The bank relied on daily batch processing and lacked real‑time streaming and analytics, which limited its ability to give up‑to‑date insights, shorten time‑to‑market for new services, and spot early signs of customer default.

Working with Cloudera, Rabobank implemented HDP and CDF to build a governed, scalable data lake with real‑time ingestion, a unified SQL interface, GPU‑accelerated processing and professional services support. The new platform enabled streaming analytics and machine learning that detect warning signals earlier, speed time to insight and product delivery, and provide secure, self‑service access to timely customer data—improving advice and outcomes for customers.
