Optimizing Tax Management through Analytics

Agencia Tributaria de Cataluña (ATC) is the regional tax authority for Catalonia, responsible for collecting and managing revenue that funds public services for 7.5 million residents and 627,700 businesses. ATC faced fragmented data systems and costly, slow BI projects that created silos and limited its ability to detect fraud, speed tax processing and scale analytics.

ATC implemented Cloudera Enterprise Data Hub and Cloudera Stream Processing with a master data management model, data lakes and governance to unify data, publish information dynamically and speed ingestion. The new platform cut document storage costs by up to 10x and infrastructure/license costs by 4x, enabled a taxpayer census integration in three months (vs ~15 months previously), improved fraud detection and automated workflows, and delivered faster, more scalable analytics across the agency.
