Ooredoo Kuwait, part of the Ooredoo Group, is a regional telecom operator that experienced rapid growth in stored data and struggled with siloed legacy systems and regulatory requirements to retain call data records. The company could not derive timely customer insights from its large volumes of network logs, making accurate segmentation and real-time customer engagement increasingly difficult and costly to maintain.
To solve this, Ooredoo Kuwait deployed a big data stack using Cloudera’s platform and Apache Kafka for stream processing, log aggregation and large-scale messaging, offloading legacy databases into a scalable data lake. The new system reduced infrastructure costs and TCO, enabled real-time analytics and dashboarding, improved customer segmentation and marketing with real-time triggers, and measurably enhanced the customer experience.
