Northern Trust Selects Cloudera to Enhance Enterprise Data Management

Northern Trust, a global provider of wealth management and asset servicing, needed to strengthen enterprise data management, compliance and infrastructure performance by gathering and mining large volumes of system-generated data. The bank sought a scalable, governed platform to monitor and analyze operational and application performance across its organization.

Northern Trust implemented the Cloudera Enterprise Data Hub to centralize and analyze performance data from more than 20,000 employee computers and business applications. The hub enabled a scoring system for information access, real-time monitoring of cash payment processing, and proactive identification and resolution of transactional issues, improving service delivery and minimizing client impact; Northern Trust now plans to expand the hub to store and analyze transactional data to support broader analytics and new services.
