A Cloudera Case Study
Max It is an Israeli payments and credit-solutions company serving more than 2 million cardholders and 40,000 businesses. As it shifted from a card issuer to a broader financial-services company, Max It needed real-time data insights, scalable open infrastructure without vendor lock-in, and machine-learning-ready client profiles—limitations in its legacy DBMS and replication tools made integrations, maintenance and cost-efficiency increasingly problematic.
Max It expanded its use of Cloudera into a data lake, replaced legacy replication with Kafka and NiFi, and connected the platform to Tableau for live dashboards. The new architecture preserved existing reporting workloads while enabling richer client profiles (up to 5,000 features), real-time transaction confirmations and faster fraud detection; it also became the organization’s central data hub and delivered a 40% reduction in infrastructure costs, with plans to move to CDP Private Cloud and a hybrid model.
