LORTEK, a Basque non-profit research center focused on digitalizing manufacturing, teamed up with ZYLK to build the INDAR Open Lab for Industry 4.0 testing. The challenge was handling the huge volume and speed of data from IoT sensors, machines, and robots in additive manufacturing, and turning it into useful insights; they used Cloudera to help manage and analyze this data.

Cloudera implemented a hybrid data platform combining on-premises storage with cloud analytics, including Cloudera Machine Learning and Cloudera Streaming Analytics, to support real-time processing, digital twins, and predictive models. As a result, LORTEK and its partners streamlined data processes, reduced testing costs and time to value, and in some cases helped drive material-related defects down to zero while improving predictive maintenance and production planning.
