Index Exchange is a global supply-side platform that runs programmatic auctions to help publishers monetize content and advertisers deliver relevant ads. As traffic surged—auctions grew roughly 5x to ~250 billion per day and about 150 TB of data is processed daily—the company needed a scalable, low-latency analytics platform to provide hourly visibility for monitoring, optimization and rapid anomaly detection.

Index implemented Cloudera’s enterprise platform, deploying a 500-node cluster across eight data centers while keeping core workloads on-premises with hybrid flexibility. The new platform delivers hourly data updates, lets analysts investigate issues in hours instead of days, improves campaign optimization and saves customers money, and provides a scalable foundation for future machine learning and data-science use cases.
