Case Study: Goiás state government delivers integrated, data-driven citizen services with Cloudera Data Platform

A Cloudera Case Study

Preview of the Goiás Case Study

In Brazil’s Goiás state, data sharing is helping government help people

The Secretary of State for Development and Innovation in Goiás (SEDI GO) needed to break down data silos across 42 state agencies to improve public services—health, education, infrastructure and employment—for Goiás’s 7.2 million residents. Its initial Expresso portal offered 110 online services, but SEDI GO’s bigger challenge was building a centralized Citizens Information Portal so policymakers could make data-driven spending and service decisions.

SEDI GO implemented Cloudera Data Platform and a data lakehouse to aggregate and standardize agency data, enable self-service analytics and support AI features. The platform delivered the state’s first centralized repository for participating departments, recreated standardization processes, boosted buy-in from more agencies, and is expected to power digital services for more than 2 million citizens while improving targeted decisions about schools, hospitals, connectivity and employment.
