Greentube personalizing the customer experience with real-time behavioral analytics

Greentube, part of the NOVOMATIC Group and operator of a large online casino serving over a million monthly players, needed to differentiate via personalized experiences and targeted offers. Its legacy SQL Server data warehouses and siloed systems could not support the real-time analytics and machine learning required by Marketing and Customer Support, so the company set out to adopt a modern data platform.

Greentube implemented Cloudera Enterprise with SDX on Microsoft Azure in a hybrid architecture (using technologies like Kafka, Kudu, Spark and Impala) to power real-time recommendations, personalization and fraud detection. The platform delivered a 2% revenue lift from game recommendations in one cohort, a 3% increase in subscription upgrades yielding over €1M incremental revenue, uncovered a large bot network and cut operational load by 20%, and reduced experiment start times from days to hours while processing ~1 TB of data daily.
