A Cloudera Case Study
A logistics and mobility technology company is monetizing underused urban parking garages by hosting virtual kitchens, delivery lockers, COVID-19 testing sites and other services, putting proximity to customers at the center of its business. As data became mission-critical, legacy tools like AWS Glue grew too costly and Redshift could not handle tens of GBs per day or the anticipated 5–10× data growth, while the company also needed stronger security, lineage and GDPR/PII compliance and broader access for business units.
The company migrated to Cloudera Data Platform Public Cloud, using Cloudera DataFlow (NiFi, Kafka) to ingest IoT and streaming data and Apache Ranger for access control, governance and lineage. The new architecture consolidates transactions and sensor data, has already reduced total cost of ownership, meets regulatory requirements, and provides a scalable foundation for 5–10× growth and advanced geospatial and prescriptive analytics to further monetize its parking assets.
