A major North American airline that relies on mission‑critical sensor, clickstream and operational data needed to break down silos and build a scalable, timely data foundation. The company wanted to unify diverse data sources to enable predictive maintenance, personalized customer offers, improved operational reporting, stronger cybersecurity and CCPA/PCI compliance, but lacked an easy, automated way to move and share data across teams.

Working with Cloudera, the airline implemented Cloudera DataFlow with Apache NiFi and MiNiFi as enterprise “data plumbing” to centralize ingestion, automate onboarding and stream data to multiple lakes and security platforms. The solution now ingests 75,000 events/sec, cut data volume by over 50%, shortened data discovery from 6–7 weeks to one week, reduced onboarding from 6–9 months to about one month, and lowered public cloud network charges by up to 40%, enabling faster analytics, better threat detection and improved customer experience.
