Emirates NBD, a leading regional bank undergoing a AED 1 billion digital transformation, needed to move from batch reporting to real‑time data flows to deliver instant customer and operational insight, enable advanced analytics (AI/ML, blockchain) and strengthen fraud detection across the enterprise.

To achieve this, the bank partnered with Hortonworks to build a scalable Enterprise Data Platform on a Hadoop foundation, staffed a dedicated data team, and centralized trusted data with automated reporting. The platform put real‑time cross‑enterprise data flows on track for early 2019, enabling deeper personalization, faster digital innovation, real‑time predictive fraud analytics and improved operational intelligence.
