OCBC Bank, the second largest financial services group in Southeast Asia, was looking to modernize its data platform to support secure private-cloud data storage, AI/ML capabilities, and more personalized digital banking experiences. Working with Cloudera, the bank aimed to consolidate disparate data sources and give its data science team a flexible hybrid-cloud environment for building intelligent applications.

Cloudera helped OCBC Bank build a private-cloud data lake and an enterprise data science platform using Cloudera Machine Learning on Red Hat OpenShift. The results included 250 million personalized insights delivered each year, more than 100 targeted nudges in the mobile app with up to 50% click-through rates, and chatbots handling 10% of website interactions, while ML also helped predict system failures and reduce operational risk.
