A Cloudera Case Study
The Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) manages vehicle environmental monitoring and policy support in China, but its legacy data platform could not keep up with the rapid growth in HDV emissions data required by the China VI standard. As nationwide real-time reporting expanded, CRAES needed a way to handle data volumes that had grown from terabytes to petabytes while reducing costs and improving operational efficiency. Cloudera was selected to help address this challenge with a more scalable data platform.
With Cloudera, CRAES can now upload, store, analyze, and share petabytes of emissions data through its remote monitoring system. The solution improved data management, lowered internal labor costs through ongoing operations and maintenance support, and enabled more informed carbon-reduction policy recommendations. CRAES reported that Cloudera’s platform flexibility and stability improved daily data operations and management capabilities.
