Carlson Wagonlit Travel is a global corporate travel management company that handles millions of itineraries and tens of thousands of meetings annually. To personalize services and balance tight corporate travel budgets with employee satisfaction, the company needed to unify and analyze data from more than 1,600 disparate sources—transaction records, traveler feedback, customer profiles and external market data—creating a complex data challenge.

Carlson Wagonlit deployed Cloudera on Microsoft Azure via Cazena’s fully managed Big Data as-a-Service, enabling BI and data science teams to query familiar tools and build machine-learning models. The managed platform cut setup time for a data science sandbox from months to about an hour, reduced wait times for data, delivered new customer insights that improved personalization, and helped win new clients by making data a competitive differentiator.
