Regional Electoral Court protects necessary electoral data and ease administration of multi-cluster environment with CloudCasa

The Tribunal Regional Eleitoral do Pará, a government electoral court in Brazil, faced the challenge of protecting its essential Kubernetes-hosted electoral data to comply with a strict government mandate for off-site backups. With limited infrastructure resources, they needed a scalable, cloud-native backup solution that could ensure application-consistent data protection for their multi-cluster SUSE Rancher environment and Postgres databases.

CloudCasa provided a simple, as-a-service solution that required no hardware or software installation. Using CloudCasa's web interface, the court could easily manage backups to Amazon S3 and perform restores across clusters. This enabled seamless infrastructure upgrades and delivered significant administrative benefits. In one instance, CloudCasa restored an entire application, including 5 persistent volumes, to a different cluster in over 10 minutes. The capacity-based pricing model also provided the scalability needed for their growing Kubernetes footprint.
