CloudBolt Creates Unified Cloud Interface for IHG

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), a global hotel company with more than 5,000 hotels and 7,000+ VMs, needed to manage workloads across four public clouds but was hampered by the complexity of using multiple cloud interfaces. VMware vRealize Automation couldn’t support all clouds, was costly and slow to maintain, and installing multi‑tier apps required juggling cloud consoles, Chef, and new VMs. To address this, IHG selected CloudBolt Software’s Cloud Management Platform.

CloudBolt Software provided a single UI and API to provision, manage, and automate workloads across VMware and all four public clouds; IHG built blueprints (including 40+ node Apache Hadoop clusters) and used CloudBolt’s native Chef Enterprise integration to automate bootstrap and role assignment. The result: IHG moved all managed resources off vRA in under 10 months, enabled self‑service provisioning so teams can deploy complex stacks within minutes, improved vendor independence, reduced costs through VM power scheduling and deprovisioning, and brought previously shadow IT (GCE) under central control.
