PetDesk is a North American pet health software company serving more than 1,700 pet care facilities and over one million app users. As usage grew to millions of SMS messages a month, their legacy SMS provider couldn’t scale reliably, and a risky cutover threatened missed appointments, lost revenue and damage to their reputation.
After a brief attempt to build feature-flagging in-house, PetDesk adopted CloudBees Feature Management to toggle providers and run targeted short-term experiments (for example, 50,000-message tests). The feature flags enabled measured rollouts and quick rollbacks, resulting in a smooth SMS migration, greater confidence and scalability, and a plan to use flags more broadly to reduce deployment risk while accelerating innovation.
