Building a Common Workflow, Standardizing Embedded Firmware Releases, and Helping to Sustainably Feed the World at AGCO

AGCO, a global manufacturer of farming equipment and precision-agriculture technology, faced fragmented embedded-software development: engineering teams across brands used different tools, processes, and release cycles, producing duplicate work, manual builds, and limited visibility into firmware changes.

To fix this, AGCO formed a global working group, standardized common processes, and rolled out CloudBees CD (integrated with Siemens Polarion) with local champions at each site. The result: modernized, reusable CI/CD pipelines deployed at ~90% of sites, eliminated silos, full build-to-ALM traceability, and faster releases (from 1–2 per year to quarterly), enabling quicker bug fixes, feature rollouts, cost savings, and future plans for automated firmware deployment and smart-farming services.
