A CloudBees Case Study
One of Ireland’s “big four” commercial banks — nearly wholly government owned — launched a digital transformation to compete on mobile and online services. Facing fragmented tooling, hundreds of unmanaged Jenkins instances and high costs/risks from ad‑hoc CI/CD practices, the bank needed to standardize development, speed releases and ensure auditable, secure deployments.
The bank adopted CloudBees CI to centralize tooling and standardize pipelines, consolidating roughly 1,000 CI/CD scripts down to about 300, eliminating free‑standing Jenkins instances and moving to shared masters. The move cut infrastructure and admin overhead (from ~20 servers/administrators to 10 VMs and one admin), enabled automatic microservices deployment, boosted developer productivity and reduced development cycle time by an estimated 10–30%.
