Autodesk Powers Cloud Initiative and Faster Releases with CI/CD

Autodesk, a leader in 3D design and engineering software, needed to accelerate its shift to cloud, subscription licensing and digital delivery while meeting customer requirements like SOC 2 compliance. With some 4,000 engineers working across hundreds of products and a fragmented toolset and workflow landscape, the company faced the challenge of standardizing development and deployment practices to shorten release cycles, boost quality and increase engineering productivity.

Autodesk created an Engineering Solutions team and standardized on CloudBees Core (Jenkins), GitHub and Artifactory, rolling out secure, self-service CI pipelines (including content, localization and release-note pipelines) and an automated CD flow integrated with its CloudOS and ServiceNow. The phased, white-glove-to-self-service migration delivered daily deployments and lead times measured in hours, an automated SOC 2–compliant CD process, strong developer and executive buy-in, and productivity gains of up to 10x, with about half the engineering org already on the CI platform and CD adoption growing.
