Case Study: Softonic achieves scalable event-based microservices with CloudAMQP

A CloudAMQP Case Study

Preview of the Softonic Case Study

Softonic - Customer Case Study

Softonic, the world’s largest software and app discovery destination, needed an architecture that could handle massive traffic, millions of daily downloads, and a constant flow of events between services without slowing down user uploads or overwhelming its applications. CloudAMQP helped Softonic use RabbitMQ as an event bus to decouple microservices and support its move from a monolith to an event-based architecture.

With CloudAMQP’s hosted RabbitMQ service, Softonic implemented queued, asynchronous processing for tasks like file scanning, data distribution, and internal service communication, while also using the consistent hash exchange plugin and RabbitMQ sharding to balance load and preserve processing order where needed. The result was a faster, more reliable, and more scalable system that let Softonic keep serving over 100 million users per month and more than 2 million downloads per day with low coupling between services.
