How Automobile Club Italia improved vehicle compliance and customer satisfaction

Automobile Club Italia (ACI), the national non‑profit federation representing Italian motorists, needed to create a frictionless, multichannel “complete and enveloping” citizen experience across its network of offices and online touchpoints. To reduce wait times, improve accessibility and extend digital services started at home, ACI sought to deploy free guest WiFi and location‑aware digital services as the foundation for app integration and streamlined vehicle‑related transactions, and selected Cloud4Wi (Cloud4Wi’s product suite) to help deliver that vision.

ACI deployed Cloud4Wi’s product suite—working with Fortinet and Huawei access points—to provide hardware‑agnostic guest WiFi with localized branded splash pages, a marketplace for location‑level services, multiple login options and location services. After trials in Milan and Venice, the rollout reached 82 locations with 250 hotspots; in 2017 there were 11,873 WiFi users and 182,800 web pages served. Cloud4Wi’s solution digitized the citizen journey, enabled GDPR‑compliant data capture and insight into usage, boosted citizen satisfaction and created a platform for future location‑based services.
