RailPod, a Boston-based infrastructure inspection system provider, needed a cloud-based IoT platform to demonstrate how its drone technology could ingest, process, and visualize rail inspection data in real time. Working with Cloud Technology Partners, RailPod sought a solution that would be low-maintenance, cost-effective, scalable, and secure enough to control data access and entitlements across customers.

Cloud Technology Partners built a prototype enterprise-class IoT solution on AWS using services including EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, Snowball, and a custom authentication layer, along with a web portal for mapping and sensor visualization. The platform enabled RailPod to store and archive drone data, display measurements in real time, and secure user access, while setting the stage for future AWS IoT and serverless integration to reduce maintenance overhead and costs.
