Financial Services Firm engaged Cloud Technology Partners to help build a cost-effective big data framework for analyzing machine-generated data from more than 200,000 globally distributed devices. The client’s internal predictive maintenance effort, aimed at forecasting ATM component failures and improving uptime, could not scale technically or financially using a traditional Oracle relational database approach.

Cloud Technology Partners designed the architecture and supported a scalable private-cloud platform for large-scale analytics, helping evaluate vendors and select the right big data, analytics, and development tools. Using a proof of concept with HortonWorks HBase, the vendor enabled a framework that will be incorporated into the client’s PaaS and is expected to reduce ATM maintenance costs by $5–10M per year while supporting future analytical services.
