Workvivo, a workplace employee communication platform, needed to secure files uploaded by its users to Amazon S3, ensuring they were free from malware and viruses before being shared. The challenge involved finding a partner solution that integrated natively with AWS, supported diverse file types, minimized false positives, and maintained GDPR compliance by processing data within its region. They selected and implemented Antivirus for Amazon S3 from the vendor Cloud Storage Security.

The solution from Cloud Storage Security was deployed swiftly using AWS Fargate and CloudFormation. It successfully scanned 2 TB of existing data and continues to scan new uploads, providing proactive notifications to a Slack channel. This allowed Workvivo to meet SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance requirements, pass penetration tests, and use the security feature as a selling point to win new, security-conscious customers.
