SafeLife Empowers Personal, Family and Community Safety With Google Maps

SafeLife, a public safety startup based in Leesburg, Virginia, wanted to use mobile and web technology to improve awareness of hyper-local safety conditions. To visualize geocoded crime reports, alerts, missing-child locations, sex offender data, and other crowd-sourced information, the company needed a scalable mapping solution and turned to Cloud Sherpas for help with Google Maps implementation.

Working with Cloud Sherpas, SafeLife built an iOS app and a website using Google Maps API V3 and Google Maps Engine, with Android support planned next. The solution geocodes incoming public safety feeds and displays them as pins and notifications across mobile and web, helping SafeLife expand from communities in Maine through Virginia and laying the groundwork for nationwide growth.
