Quality Distribution Moves Faster With Google Chromebooks and Google Apps

Quality Distribution, North America’s largest bulk transportation company, needed a more collaborative and flexible IT environment for 3,000 employees and drivers across 125+ offices. Its legacy Microsoft setup, with Windows PCs, Blackberrys, and a 100 MB inbox limit, made collaboration difficult, limited BYOD, and consumed too much IT time. Quality Distribution worked with Cloud Sherpas on a move to Google Apps and Chromebooks, alongside support for legacy Windows applications.

Cloud Sherpas helped implement Gmail and Google Apps, deploy Chromebooks, and use Ericom-based browser access for older Windows tools, while also providing user training. The results included better collaboration, happier users, easier mobile access, and lower IT overhead; the company also reported saving thousands of dollars year over year and found Google Apps cost less than half of Microsoft Exchange.
