City of Hope Mobilizes Data Management with Salesforce and Cloud Sherpas

City of Hope, a leading cancer research and treatment center, needed a better way to manage the California Teachers Study as it prepared to collect thousands of blood and saliva samples across multiple sites. Its team faced the challenge of standardizing sample collection, tracking participants, and replacing a manual, office-software-based process with something more efficient. City of Hope turned to Cloud Sherpas and Salesforce Sales Cloud, along with custom mobile development, to support the project.

Cloud Sherpas implemented a Salesforce-based system and built a custom Android tablet app for phlebotomists to capture barcodes and questionnaire data in the field. The solution streamlined data collection, improved tracking and data quality, and eliminated manual entry. City of Hope reported the system was more streamlined, efficient, and cost effective, with Cloud Sherpas helping deliver cost savings of at least 50% over the life of the project.
