They engaged the vendor Cloud Sherpas to develop a self-service account provisioning system that could authenticate students against the university's existing records without compromising security.

Cloud Sherpas designed a fully-hosted, scalable provisioning service running on Google App Engine. The solution authenticated students using their university ID numbers and allowed them to create their own passwords, maintaining a high level of security. As a result, Alabama State University significantly reduced the IT resources spent on manual provisioning and improved the onboarding experience for new students.
