Windsor and Maidenhead, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, wanted to become a cloud-first local authority but faced a complex estate of around 400 business applications and aging infrastructure that would have required about £1.5 million in hardware refresh costs. Cloud Pro helped frame the move to cloud using Microsoft technologies, including Office 365, SharePoint, Hyper-V, and virtual desktop infrastructure, while the council also considered other cloud options such as Google Apps.

Cloud Pro’s solution supported the council’s full shift toward a cloud platform, helping consolidate systems, improve flexibility, and avoid major capital expenditure. The expected result was around £500,000 in savings over two years, plus a 60% saving on its mobile contract and removal of the 200-user web portal limit, enabling better service delivery and flexible working.
