SportPursuit takes flexible approach to drive sales

SportPursuit.com, the flash-sale sports retailer, needed an infrastructure that could handle frequent traffic spikes and troughs, especially during busy periods like the run-up to Christmas. To support its Magento-based e-commerce site, the company turned to Cloud Pro’s cloud services, originally choosing Amazon Web Services for its flexibility, affordability, and lack of long-term contract commitment.

Cloud Pro helped SportPursuit.com build a scalable, redundant setup using AWS services including Amazon RDS for product, order, and customer databases, S3 for about 1TB of backups and storage, ElastiCache for Redis/Memcache caching, and Elastic Load Balancing for traffic management. The result was a cost-effective platform that could spin servers up and down as demand changed, improve user experience during peaks, and provide easy expansion and database redundancy.
