A Cloud Pro Case Study
The Royal Opera House needed to modernize its aging IT infrastructure and fix a slow, overburdened ticketing website that struggled whenever new tickets went on sale. Working with Cloud Pro and using AWS-based hosting, the organization looked for a way to scale quickly for peak demand while keeping costs focused on productions rather than infrastructure.
Cloud Pro helped implement a cloud solution on Amazon Web Services using Elastic Load Balancing, CloudFront, and DynamoDB, with a LAMP-based content platform and Microsoft-based ecommerce components. The result was a far more responsive ticketing experience: orders could be completed in under a minute, the site scaled from 4 servers on normal days to 60 during heavy traffic, and online sales rose to 60% of tickets, with a target of 80% set by the Royal Opera House.
