Netflix; testing and stretching the cloud’s capabilities

Netflix, the online movie and streaming company, needed a way to support rapid, unpredictable growth as it moved from DVD-by-post into global streaming. To keep up with rising demand and expansion into new markets, Netflix turned to Cloud Pro’s cloud-based approach, using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Apache Cassandra to replace the limits of its data centers.

Cloud Pro helped Netflix build a highly scalable, distributed cloud architecture that could deploy quickly and grow on demand. The result was a platform that cost a fraction of traditional infrastructure, could be launched in seconds, and could scale from a few Cassandra instances to hundreds as needed, supporting Netflix’s multi-billion-dollar business and fast international expansion.
