Napthen's solicitors migrate to a VDI to overcome inflexible infrastructure

Napthens LLP, a Lancashire-based solicitors firm with around 250 staff across four sites, was struggling with an inflexible and hard-to-manage mix of PCs, thin clients, outdated switches, and other legacy infrastructure. The firm wanted a more flexible desktop environment that would let employees work from any device, improve user experience, and reduce the time spent on supporting its existing setup. Cloud Pro helped Napthens LLP move toward a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) using Citrix XenApp 6.5 and Dell Wyse thin clients.

Cloud Pro implemented a full VDI rollout with centralized management, replacing the old desktop mix and consolidating printing and network infrastructure. The result was faster, more reliable desktop performance, simpler application deployment, stronger security, and significant savings in IT administration time and costs. Napthens LLP also gained greater agility for hot-desking and collaboration across sites, allowing IT staff to focus more on supporting fee-earners and less on routine maintenance.
