Giant Eagle chooses IBM Cloud to power infrastructure

Giant Eagle, one of the largest privately held multi-format food, fuel and pharmacy retailers in the US, needed a scalable, secure, reliable and efficient way to modernize its infrastructure without major capital investment. The company turned to Cloud Pro and IBM Cloud’s SoftLayer Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) as part of a hybrid cloud approach to support its digital transformation and improve the shopping experience.

Cloud Pro helped implement a consumption-based hybrid cloud model with integrated systems management, enabling faster application provisioning and better visibility across operations. The rollout began with development/test and disaster recovery environments, with production migration planned next. The result was a stronger foundation for Giant Eagle’s transformation, delivering improved agility and operational control while reducing the need for upfront infrastructure spending.
