Doncaster Council saves £2m with Advanced cloud finance system

Doncaster MBC, the Metropolitan Borough Council serving more than 300,000 citizens, was struggling with paper-heavy, Excel-based finance processes, manual data entry, and a 20-year-old mainframe that limited visibility and control. The council turned to Cloud Pro’s Advanced cloud-hosted finance solution, including e5 for finance, procurement, budgeting and forecasting, plus V1 document management, to replace its fragmented legacy systems.

Cloud Pro implemented an integrated suite that automated purchase-to-pay workflows, OCR invoice capture, electronic archiving, and budgeting self-service for finance staff and budget holders. The result was a more accurate “single version of the truth,” better spend visibility, improved compliance, and major cost savings: Doncaster MBC reported saving £2 million so far, with a further £100,000 expected, alongside reduced licensing and support costs from decommissioned legacy systems.
