Davidson College chooses Dropbox over rival services

Davidson College needed a faster, more reliable, and more cost-effective collaboration platform to replace its legacy on-premise file storage. Cloud Pro’s Dropbox for Education was evaluated against Box, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive after the college struggled to find a solution that could handle large-scale uploads for staff and students.

Cloud Pro’s Dropbox for Education passed a 112GB sync test that the other services could not complete, finishing in hours instead of five days. After rollout to 1,700 users, 70% signed up, and Davidson College expanded its use of Dropbox across the organization, with projected storage costs cut by about half compared with its previous SAN-based setup.
