Conservation International, a nonprofit working across 20 countries to monitor biodiversity, climate, and land use, was struggling with huge databases containing more than 200 million images and millions of records. With actionable insights difficult to extract and processing times stretching from weeks to months, the organization needed a faster way to analyze rainforest data. Cloud Pro, using the HP Vertica platform, was brought in to help solve the challenge.

Cloud Pro implemented HP Vertica’s analytics tools to make prediction and correlation data easier to uncover and to speed up database indexing and analysis. The result was a dramatic reduction in processing time from weeks and months to hours and days, enabling Conservation International to monitor environmental data almost in real time and get complete species information by the next morning.
