Cloudhelix shows how to scale - without losing performance

Cloudhelix needed a way to scale its cloud storage performance without sacrificing capacity or replacing its existing SAN infrastructure. As demand grew on its VMware-based platform, the company found that traditional approaches like RAID 10, adding more SANs, or moving to a new storage stack would be too costly and inefficient, so it turned to Cloud Pro and PernixData software.

Cloud Pro helped Cloudhelix implement PernixData in front of its existing storage, using flash devices in ESXi hosts and a Windows Server management VM. The solution added no overhead, improved visibility into latency and I/O metrics, and gave Cloudhelix a more flexible way to scale performance as needed, helping future-proof its platform without ripping out its current storage investment.
