Citygate car dealership ditches legacy telephony for cloud

Citygate, a Volkswagen car dealership group with 11 locations around west London, needed a faster, more flexible way to connect sites, share large files, and centralize functions like telephony, administration, bookkeeping, and call centre activity. Its legacy VPN and phone infrastructure no longer had enough bandwidth, causing voice and data traffic to clash and applications to lock up. Citygate chose Cloud Pro, using a cloud-based networking and hosted telephony solution to replace its ageing setup.

Cloud Pro implemented a hosted Cisco-based telephony switch, IP phones across the group, and a cloud-managed network hosted at Node4’s Northampton data centre, with fibre installed at each site. The rollout took three to four months and enabled Citygate to add new branches much faster, with one site reportedly coming online in as little as 24 hours. The new system improved flexibility, centralised billing and call analysis, simplified IT management, and reduced the need for major upfront investment in additional telephone switches.
