Avantifix teams up with i-Virtuals to move to the cloud

Avantifix, a fixing solutions specialist for the construction industry, was struggling with an aging DIY IT setup, including a DOS-based Merlin stock system on an old Windows 2003 server. With little in-house IT expertise and a website that couldn’t support purchases on account, the company was losing sales and needed a more flexible, cost-effective way to modernize.

Cloud Pro, working through i-Virtuals cloud services, moved Avantifix’s systems to the cloud and kept the on-premise server as backup for resilience. The new setup automatically backs up data, connects 10 PCs and employees’ iPads, and supports Merlin stock control and Sage accounting. Cloud Pro helped Avantifix reduce capex, improve reliability and licensing control, and position the business to upgrade its website and better compete online.
