A Cloud Native Computing Foundation Case Study
Intuit, a financial software company, faced a challenge in increasing development velocity after a lift-and-shift migration to the public cloud. Their teams were still taking days or weeks to deploy new software releases. To become more agile, they needed to adopt containerization and cloud native technologies, which led them to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem and its projects.
The solution, driven by the acquisition of the startup Applatix and its Argo platform, involved implementing Kubernetes from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. This provided a modern, self-service developer platform. The results were dramatic: deployment cycles decreased from days to minutes, the mean time to recovery (MTTR) for issues dropped from 45 minutes to under 5 minutes, and creating a new service took less than 10 minutes. This significantly accelerated developer productivity and operational efficiency at Intuit.
